What’s the plan?

#BeHeardNotHarmed is a youth-led campaign. And it’s our voices that will be front and centre.

We’re the affected community here. But we’re the only piece missing from the debate.

We know that if we can empower the majority of young Australians that support pill testing reform, we can achieve it.

#BeHeardNotHarmed is being led by Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP) Australia. We’re the country’s only youth drug reform advocacy organisation. We’re beginning the campaign in Victoria and NSW, with the help of DanceWize - a peer-led harm reduction service that provides non-judgmental drug education and care at events and festivals.

#BeHeardNotHarmed will:

  • Link young people to a wide network of advocates fighting for pill testing reform.

  • Provide young people opportunities to learn more, and engage their own networks to spread the message that reform is on its way.

  • Act as a youth-led campaign space for all supporters to engage with reform.

  • Conduct outreach at events, festivals, on campuses and in the wider community to raise the profile of this issue and keep it in the news.

  • Provide support for young people to make their voices heard to policymakers and local political representatives.

In 2019, with your help, we want to build this campaign across Australia. We won’t stop until we have achieved best practice pill testing services around the country.
